American Family Radio (www.afr.net) is proud to announce that beginning, Monday, June 24, various hosts from Urban Family Communications will officially join the AFR lineup.
Urban Family Communications, which consists of six radio stations across the southeast, was created in 2013 as an outreach ministry of American Family Radio with the aim of reaching the black community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Rebuilding the biblical family in America has been a top priority for the outreach ministry.
“As a ministry, we have decided to consolidate our resources under one umbrella, American Family Radio,” said Walker Wildmon, Vice President of Operations at American Family Association. AFA is the parent ministry of AFR. “In a time where the battle for the soul of America seems to intensify day after day, it is important that we speak truth, as one voice, into society.”
Some of the voices that were heard on UFC will now be heard on AFR’s 181 stations in over 30 states, and the six UFC stations will now broadcast AFR programming. Below is a list of the programming changes:
Airing the Addisons
Wil and Meeke Addison will host Airing the Addisons each weekday at 2:05 p.m. CST. Their talk show will focus on empowering and strengthening the family. Wil Addison is a New Orleans native whose life service has included nationally appointed home missionary and associate pastor. He brings to AFR nearly 20 years of ministry experience. Wil formerly served as the Director of Urban Family Communications, where he was responsible for the overall function and mission of the ministry. Meeke is a radio personality with over 14 years of ministry experience. The Addisons have five children.
Wil will serve as Director of Special Initiatives for AFA, while Meeke will serve as Associate Director of Special Initiatives in addition to continuing her role as a spokesperson for AFA. Under these roles, the couple will plan various conferences and events aimed at empowering and strengthening families across the country.
The Hour of Intercession
Pastor Joseph Parker will host The Hour of Intercession each weekday at 3:05 a.m. CST. Parker is a minister and leader in his local community. The daily radio show will focus on topics of prayer and intercession in the family, home, community, and body of Christ.
The Awakening
The Awakening with Bishop E.W. Jackson will air each Sunday at 11:05 a.m. CST. Jackson, founder and president of S.T.A.N.D. (Staying True to America’s National Destiny), is on a mission to awaken the body of Christ and all Americans to the fundamental threat to the spiritual and moral foundations of our Constitutional Republic. Instead of mere rhetoric, he offers real solutions to the problems America faces, such as inner-city poverty, crime, and violence.
Lion Chasers
Lion Chasers with Lonnie Poindexter will air each Saturday at 8:35 p.m. CST. Lion Chasers will take an in-depth look at the effects of the liberal ideology on the black community. The aim is to replace long-held lies and deception with sound biblical principles that point the community back to a moral and free society. Rebuilding the foundation with biblical principles and unwavering truth is essential to produce a prosperous community and strong families.
The changes will be taking place soon, with Airing the Addisons starting the week of July 1, 2019, and the other programs as soon as possible. For an updated lineup schedule, please visit here. Questions may be sent to [email protected].
