Cognitive bias explains why Dems act the way they do

According to Chegg.com, “a cognitive bias is a mistake in reasoning, evaluating, remembering, or other cognitive process, often occurring as a result of holding onto one's preferences and beliefs regardless of contrary information. Psychologists study cognitive biases as they relate to memory, reasoning, and decision-making.”

The modern day Democratic Party seems to be full of members who struggle with a form of cognitive bias. Look at their behavior.

For over two years, Democrats have accused President Trump and his 2016 campaign of “colluding” with the Russian government to beat Hillary Clinton. Some liberals went as far to call the president a “traitor.” This accusation was repeated over and over again despite the fact that there was no evidence to substantiate their accusations. According to the Media Research Center, the three major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) have spent over 2,200 minutes throughout the last two years repeating the accusation that Donald Trump colluded with Russia. Much of this airtime was given to Democratic Party spokespersons. That’s over 36 hours of coverage to a story that turned out to be false.

Just this past week, Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller completed a 300+ page report concluding that neither Donald Trump nor his campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 election. The Attorney General, Bill Barr summarized the report by stating that the Special Counsel did not find that “the Trump campaign, nor anyone associated with it, conspired or coordinated with the Russian government” to shape the outcome of the 2016 election.

Despite this report exonerating President Trump, liberals are continuing their “collusion delusion” as the president calls it. This is just one example of liberals ignoring all available information and persisting in their faulty reasoning. This is the first example of a cognitive bias exhibited by Democrats.

Another example is the crisis of illegal immigration at our southern border. For decades, illegal aliens have flooded into the United States. Along with this influx has come drugs, gang violence, and a substantial financial burden on the U.S. economy. Despite the overwhelming facts showing that there is a crisis on the U.S. - Mexico border, Democrats repeatedly say that there is no crisis.

How can liberals repeatedly deny reality and claim that there is no there there when it comes to illegal immigration? Maybe because they are suffering from a cognitive bias that is affecting their ability to reason.

The last example of liberals demonstrating a mistake in reasoning is the reality that our country has allowed millions of unborn babies to be slaughtered under the guise of “reproductive rights.” Democrats repeat the lie that an unborn child is simply a blob of tissue and that it doesn’t have basic human rights like the rest of us. Science has proven that life begins at the moment of conception. Furthermore, the heartbeat of a baby begins around the 6-8 week mark.

How can liberals continue to repeat the lie that an unborn child isn’t just that, a child? Democrats ignore basic scientific fact and continue their cognitive bias which hampers their reasoning.

While I’m not a fan of diagnosing from afar and admit that I am not a doctor or psychiatrist, it seems blatantly clear that Democrats have a problem on their hands. A problem with accepting reality. The only explanation I can come up with is that the liberals suffer from a form of cognitive bias which prevents them from making sound decisions.
