Prodigal Prayers: Day 5

DAILY STAND EMAIL
Friday, November 20, 2020 @ 11:08 AM Prodigal Prayers: Day 5 Kendra White American Family Studios MORE

Today is the last day of Prodigal Prayer week but the movement is just beginning. Over the last few days, we have received over 2,000 individual emails from people requesting prayer for a prodigal. American Family Radio has answered numerous calls from desperate parents whose fervent plea is for God to break through in the lives of their children. All week, prayers have been constantly lifted up to our heavenly father and we are expecting huge things. How can God’s heart NOT be moved when His children cry out to him? As it says in Psalm 86:7, “In the day of my trouble I shall call upon You, For You will answer me.”

If you haven’t had the chance to submit a prayer for your prodigal, it’s not too late. You can submit them HERE. But we’d also like to invite you to join with us in prayer. Our prayer team is only made up of a dozen people. May this call to prayer ignite your heart to join with us in a movement we believe can sweep across our nation and lead to the transformation and return of many prodigals!

Here is a Scripture and prayer to pray over your prodigal today.

Psalm 32:5-11

I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
Therefore let everyone who is godly offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found;

surely in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him.

You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble;

you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;

I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle,

or it will not stay near you.
Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD.

Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

The progression here is

Prayer:

Father, we ask in the name of Jesus for ourselves and our prodigals. Help us acknowledge our sin before you and not try to cover it. May we all willingly confess our sins to you that you would forgive us and that we may freely come before you in prayer to receive your protection and deliverance. May you preserve our prodigals from a rush of great waters and troubles. Teach and instruct us and them. May we all be humble and not stubborn or resistant to you. Though we grieve and they may have sorrows, we ask that your steadfast love would surround us as we trust you with our lives and theirs. We will be glad in the Lord and will rejoice in you and shout for joy. Amen.
