An officer serving in the Idaho Army National Guard has been forcibly removed from his command and pressured to resign his current commission after faithfully serving more than 20 years because an enlisted homosexual got his feelings hurt by the officer’s posts on his personal social media pages.
Liberty Counsel told American Family News that the legal firm has notified Idaho Governor Brad Little that the state’s Army National Guard has violated the protected free speech of an infantry officer regarding public statements he made outside of the military environment.
Gov. Little is the Commander of the Idaho Army National Guard. You can read Liberty Counsel’s letter to Gov. Brad Little here.
Liberty Counsel has redacted the officer’s name to protect him and his family from LGBTQ+ activists who historically harass and threaten those who speak out against their sinful lifestyle.
In 2023, according to Liberty Counsel, a homosexual soldier filed a formal discrimination military complaint against the officer who shared his religious and political beliefs, particularly regarding gender ideology and the sexualization of children, on his private social platform.
The officer posted these statements while running for a political office or otherwise acting in his private capacity. According to Liberty Counsel, as a result of the homosexual’s complaint, the Idaho Army National Guard removed him from his command and illegally forced him to resign.
Liberty Counsel founder and chairman Mat Staver said, “Governor Brad Little must ensure that the Idaho Army National Guard uphold federal and state law and protect the free speech of enlisted personnel. This discrimination against an officer based on a frivolous complaint must be addressed and his record cleared and career restored.”
