AFA: Climate activists bent on saving the planet hypocritically fly private charters

Monday, February 27, 2023 @ 08:20 AM

TUPELO, Miss. — Ironically, influential climate change activists — including many Democrats promoting climate activism — produced a massive carbon footprint during the 2021-2022 midterm election cycle. A recent report revealed that highly vocal climate change advocates took a plethora of private chartered flights, including Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif — who paid a whopping $349,563 for private charters — Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and several others. Overall, these climate elitists shelled out more than $1.4 million for private jets alone during the midterm period.

This hypocrisy comes right on the heels of another climate change controversy. Biden’s special presidential envoy for climate John Kerry was reported in the summer of 2022 to have emitted over 300 metric tons of carbon from his private jet alone.

American Family Association (AFA, www.AFA.net) Executive Vice President Ed Vitagliano says climate activists have a control agenda, not a climate agenda, or they would behave much differently. If these anti-CO2 activists were truly serious about reducing emissions, wouldn’t they take responsible steps to curtail their own outputs?

“These climate change grifters clamor for radical restrictions on everyone else’s ‘carbon footprint’ but always exempt themselves,” Vitagliano said. “Like autocrats of the past, they demand sacrifices from the peasantry while living it up in true elitist fashion. This is not only blatant hypocrisy but proof that they don’t believe there is an actual climate crisis. If they did, they would lead by example.”
