American Family Association: Transgender activists invading women’s bathrooms are the real ‘bullies in our society’

Monday, August 22, 2022 @ 07:50 AM

TUPELO, Miss. —  An 80-year-old woman who has been a member of her local YMCA for 35 years has been permanently banned from the facility because she protested a man watching her shower and gawking at young girls as they use the bathroom. This is allowed, if not encouraged, by law in Washington state, where 80-year-old Julie Jaman was “harassed by transgender activists” last week for publicly objecting to a man watching her in the shower and young girls as they used the bathroom.

In Washington, state law endorses this behavior: “In such facilities where undressing in the presence of others occurs, covered entities [like the YMCA] shall allow access to and use of a facility consistent with that individual’s gender expression or gender identity” (emphasis added).

American Family Association (AFA, www.AFA.net) Executive Vice President Ed Vitagliano spoke out against this abuse of women, encouraging people of common sense to avoid establishments that ignore the realities of biological sex.

Vitagliano stated, “It has become abundantly clear who the bullies are in our society. Transgender activists and their sympathizers will severely punish anyone who publicly disagrees with them. It’s also clear that the radical Left has become engulfed by a terrible delusion, which results in the demand to allow a grown man into the women’s locker room to gawk at little girls if he chooses to and to lash out at an 80-year-old woman who wants some privacy from the opposite sex while showering. The only solution at a place like this YMCA is for sane people to boycott it until its leaders change the policy — or go out of business.”
