As We Go

So Jesus told them this story: “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders” (Luke 15:3-5 NLT).

We are commanded to go and make disciples of all nations. Notice, we are called to go to all people – not just the ones who are like us. We must go to those that society has deemed undesirable. We are to go to those who may be different than us.

What are we supposed to do when we go? We are to plant God's seed and water – the gospel. We are to call out the name of Jesus – the Good Shepherd. The Holy Spirit will call to their souls and remind them they are His. We are to be the hands and feet of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Where are we to go? The answer is everywhere!

Everywhere we go, we are to share Jesus' light, His love, and His mercy. That light might be just a smile or a “good morning” or a hug. You get the picture. We need to just go. It might even be said this way: as we go! This means we should always show God's love as we go about our everyday functions of life.

Thank you, Lord, for giving us a purpose for your kingdom. Lord, please use us so any of the lost sheep will see you through us and return to your fold. Amen.

Tuesday

Mountain Tops and Valleys

"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand" (Isaiah 41:10 NLT).

We must always read and study God's Word especially when we are going through trials, tribulations, and shaky times of life.

Father God, help us to realize we can't do this “thing” called life without you and your instructions. When we travel the gravel roads of this world, we need your roadmap, the Bible, so we can know how to survive and thrive. Lord, give us the desire to study your Word so we might draw nearer to you. Help us understand you are with us and will never leave us whether we are on the mountaintops or in the valleys of life. We praise you and pray in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus. Amen.

Wednesday

Life Everlasting

You will show me the way of life,
granting me the joy of your presence
and the pleasures of living with you forever. (Psalm 16:11 NLT).

The Way – God's Word is the roadmap for life and everlasting life.

Joy – Having Jesus in your heart gives us joy that will not be found anywhere else.

Eternity in heaven – This is what God promises us through His Son in John 3:16.

Lord God, thank you for giving us the Way, Jesus, to have joy and eternity in heaven with you. We pray in Jesus’ name, amen.

Thursday

Speaking Truth

But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died. So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man. Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life (1 Corinthians 15:20-22 NLT).

When you someone say, "It’s all about Jesus,” that’s because it is! It is the truth because He is the Truth. People today don't want to hear the truth. They say we are being harsh, mean-spirited, and hateful. On the contrary, by preaching the Truth, we are showing the most love that another human can show another.

Know this truth:  without Jesus, you are going to spend eternity separated from God.

In other words, you will condemn yourself to hell. God doesn't send you there; we do that ourselves. He has offered you Jesus’ gift of salvation. You get to choose. So what is your choice? Heaven or hell? Yes, it's blunt, but you might not have another day to make that decision. Choose wisely.

God bless each of you. I love you. This is why I'm speaking Truth to each of you.

Lord God, open the eyes of the blind and bring them into your fold. It is in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Friday

The Right Path

Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take. (Proverbs 3:6).

Walk with the Lord. It's a sure path.

Dear Lord, help us to stay on the right path. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

Saturday

Our Amazing Savior

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8 NLT).

He is real, He is alive, and He is with us.

Who is He?

He is Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and Savior. Does Christ live in you? Is He your Savior? If He is not, all you need to do is ask Him to be your Savior and king. He is waiting on you. You have to choose. It's your choice. Just remember, the decision you make is eternal.

Lord God, open the hardened hearts of the lost and help them have faith. Lord, draw them to you. We ask in your name and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Sunday

Resting Peacefully

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1 NLT).

No matter how life is beating you up, you can find peace, comfort, and rest in God's presence. God will provide your shelter when you start calling on His name, trusting in Him, and having faith in Him.

Thank you, Lord, for restoring us being our Comforter. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
