During heightened sense of threats against the US, Americans must turn to God

TUPELO, Miss. — Both the head of the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security recently warned of increased risks of terrorist threats stemming from the Israel-Hamas war to the United States. While threats to the Jewish community have reached a historic level, there remains an imposing threat on Americans. FBI Director Christopher Wray stated, “This is not a time for panic, but it is a time for vigilance.”

American Family Association (AFA, www.AFA.net) President Tim Wildmon commented on the hearing:

“Since the October 7 attack against Israel by Hamas, the virulent hatred toward Israel by radical Muslims has also been directed at one of that nation’s most faithful, historical allies –– the United States. Many Americans have been shocked by the images and sounds of hostility toward the Jewish people and the Jewish state right here in our own country but calls for jihadist attacks against America –– to be carried out on American soil –– have also echoed across the Middle East. With a southern border left wide open by the Biden administration’s fanatical immigration policy, as well as political incompetence and decades of passivity by conservatives, our nation has been left wildly vulnerable to attack by outside forces bent on our destruction. For those not yet engaged, it is past time for American Christians to take their faith seriously: pray, bear witness to the power of the Gospel, and get involved in our political system.”
