After caring for over 1,500 pediatric sexual assault patients, Heidi realized a disturbing trend. Time and time again, the sexual assault victims she was caring for had been assaulted by other children and pornography was the common denominator. To combat this public health crisis, Heidi created resources and her own consulting business to raise awareness about this issue and help other medical professionals screen for porn use during forensic exams.

Wait Until the 8th

Wait Until the 8th

Wait Until the 8th is a pledge parents can take to promise not to give your child a smartphone until at least the end of 8th grade as long as at least 10 families total from your child’s grade and school pledge. If you would like your child to have a basic phone that just calls and texts, you still can sign the pledge! The basic phone avoids many of the distractions and dangers of the smartphone.
