L’Oreal makeup brand, popular among teenagers and young women, has hired adult p-rn star, Ari Kytsya, to market their products in the new “anti-bland” controversial ad campaign. Kytsya is the star of the new s-xually charged L’Oreal advertisement for its younger brand, Urban Decay. Purchased in 2012, Urban Decay is known for its pr-vocatively named products, including “P-rversion” eyeliners, “N-ked” eye shadows, and “All Nighter” setting spray.
Kytsya has a large following on the OnlyFans adult website where she is “famous” for filming p-rnographic content including expl-cit videos of her performing s-x acts and posting n-de images for subscribers. She describes herself as a “mattress actress” (euphemism for p-rn star) and a lifestyle influencer; she produces hair and makeup tutorials for her 4.6 million followers on Instagram and TikTok.
Viewed by more than 18.7 million viewers on Urban Decay’s TikTok page, the risqué ad contains pixelated images of Kytsya with a warning beneath the headline, “UD likes it raw.”
Kytsya tells people that “censorship is out of control” and calls for “uncensored makeup” that performs “on stage, on camera, and yes on mattresses.”
L’Oreal communications team issued a statement to The Guardian on behalf of an Urban Decay spokesperson: “Urban Decay partners with a diverse range of talent who represent the many facets of creativity. Urban Decay chose U.S. creator Ari Kytsya for her distinctive makeup artistry and her authenticity. She is known for her open and transparent dialogue with her community, fostering conversations about her personal experiences, including the joys, challenges, and risks of the industry she works in.”
The makeup company defends its decision despite the dangers of glorifying her work in the s-x industry to teens and young women. Kytsya brags about her “success” and how much money she has made. In comparison to most OnlyFans’ creators, she is one of few with this level of financial success. Unfortunately, these women are pressured into making increasingly expl-cit content that stands out in an attempt to establish fame and fortune.
L'Oreal is being extremely irresponsible to feature a p-rn star in their Urban Decay brand’s marketing campaigns which only normalizes and glamorizes the p-rnography industry. L’Oreal’s Urban Decay line’s target demographic is teenagers and young women, so it is concerning they are promoting s-x work. This support will make OnlyFans a more enticing option for young girls.
