WARNING!  One of the newest reality shows, Back to the Frontier, is unlike other programs Chip and Joanna Gaines have produced, since it includes a same-sex couple. Therefore, Christians should be aware of the LGBTQ content, which includes two men and their two adolescent sons.

Chip and Joanna Gaines are now facing serious backlash from fans due to the recent decision to reverse course on their beliefs and now portray this lifestyle choice as a normal occurrence. By featuring a homosexual couple with children in a family dynamic within their show, they are now embracing and accepting this lifestyle choice.

Some in the gay community are celebrating it by calling it Gay Little House on the Prairie and praising the couple for including two dads in their new show.

Chip has even doubled down on their decision by stating online, “Talk, ask [questions], listen ... maybe even learn. Too much to ask of modern American Christian culture. Judge 1st, understand later/never. It’s a sad Sunday when ‘nonbelievers’ have never been confronted with hate or vitriol until they are introduced to a modern American Christian [broken heart emoji].”

American Family Association Vice President Ed Vitagliano countered by stating, “This answer is utter nonsense and is insulting to concerned believers. It’s not hateful to expect Christians like Chip and Joanna Gaines to uphold biblical teaching. These kinds of answers are only too common from those who are folding under the pressure applied by the world.”

Vitagliano also said, “By having a same-sex couple on Back to the Frontier, Chip said on social media he’s only trying to listen and ask questions. What does he hope to learn from a homosexual couple that he can’t learn from the Bible? Would he ever consider having a racist couple on this show in order to ‘listen’ and ask questions? He wouldn’t dare –– and rightfully so –– because racism is wrong. End of story. The same is true about what the Bible says about all sexual sin, including homosexuality.”

Many of the conservative and Christian supporters of Chip and Joanna Gaines are wondering why the sudden change in the stance they are taking, since the couple supported the biblical definition of marriage in the past. Nor did they ever feature same-sex couples on their reality show, Fixer Upper, despite the noise they heard from the left.

Scripture states in Genesis 2, Matthew 19, Ephesians 5, and 1 Corinthians 7 that marriage is between a man and a woman.

It is disappointing that Chip and Joanna are now glorifying sin, and no sin should be placed in the spotlight and honored, including homosexuality. Promoting something that God defines as sin is, in itself, sin.

Scripture is extremely clear in Ezekiel 13:10-12 and Matthew 18:6 about the consequences of leading others astray.

1MM finds it extremely dangerous to share lies and deceit (camouflaged as kindness, love, and inclusivity) while propagating what God calls an abomination. Yes, we are instructed to love one another, but we also must hold others accountable and speak out against sin. We love people, and that is exactly why we tell them the truth of God’s Word.

As Christians, we must remain diligent and stand up for biblical values and truth. Scripture says multiple times that homosexuality is wrong, and God will not tolerate this sinful nature (Romans 1:26-27).

I encourage you to join 1MM in letting Chip and Joanna Gaines know that we are not buying what they are selling. Sign our pledge stating you will stay far away from their new reality show.
