Obviously, Rihanna’s disgusting gestures during the Super Bowl LVII halftime show were completely unnecessary. Christians will likely want to continue to skip these shows in the future because we never know what we will see. There is still plenty of room for improvement during the Super Bowl halftime show, but there is a bright spot. For the most part, the commercials were clean and family-friendly. It is much easier for viewers to skip the halftime show than all the commercials, so this is an extremely important fact.

For over a decade, One Million Moms has been very vocal about the ads and entertainment featured during the big game. And over the years, OMM has contacted numerous companies, networks, and even NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, urging they keep the Super Bowl appropriate for the entire family to watch. Because of you, there has been a huge improvement regarding the commercials.

Both your past and recent efforts have made a tremendous impact. And this year was no different, as we were pleasantly surprised that many of the Super Bowl LVII commercials were much cleaner.

For example, the TurboTax Super Bowl commercial was not only family-friendly, but it was also hilarious! So, wholesome marketing is possible, as we have said all along. One Million Moms also noticed that the inappropriate TurboTax ad we opposed a few weeks before the big game had been cleaned up and edited over the past several weeks. The new ad is no longer woke, and 1MM is extremely pleased.

But that is not all! 1MM noticed that Jackson Hewitt’s “What the Buck?” and “Buck Yeah!” ad campaigns had also been changed to “Need Money?” Thankfully, it no longer includes the vulgar play on words that 1MM spoke out about earlier. One Million Moms has been monitoring these ads and will continue to do so.

One Million Moms would consider these the first victories of 2023! And these victories are the results of your efforts! Because of you, we are making a big difference for our children!
