You and I live in shark-infested waters.

Recently, a survey of 1,200 American adults showed that 55 percent of “left of center” respondents thought that assassinating Donald Trump was justifiable.

That desire to see the murder of President Trump reflects a hatred that conservative Christians know all too well.

We, too, are in the crosshairs.

One scientific sampling of over 6,500 Americans revealed a trend which the researchers named “Christianophobia” —an irrational hatred of conservative Christians by a large segment of the Left.

The most hate-filled were the most educated, powerful, and rich. They told researchers things like . . .

“So many Christians, so few lions.”

“Bring back the lions.”

“Kill them all, let their god sort them out.”

“I want them all to die in a fire.”

“The only good Christian is a dead Christian.”

Keep in mind, these quotes came from people with graduate-level degrees! The elite of society. And these were not exceptions.

No wonder the school shooter who murdered six at Nashville’s Covenant Christian School left behind a written manifesto filled with hate toward believers in Christ.

We’re in a growing spiritual war.

That’s why I’m asking for you to use this secure link to send a tax-deductible gift to the American Family Association today.

AFA is strengthening Christians and shining Christ’s saving gospel into our dark culture through eight AFA ministry divisions reaching every nook and cranny of America.

With the enemy escalating the war, you and I must respond with spiritual weapons.

Of course, the “weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds” said the apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 10:4. How? “We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God” (verse 5).

That’s how we win against the hate and hostility. We advance our “arguments.” Our ideas. Our biblical worldview. We do it with courage. We give courage to others.

And that’s what your financial and prayer support for AFA does. It puts you in the fight. It is a very effective way you can respond.

We’re on the frontlines of this war, and we need your prayers and financial gift this month.

Many people ask us, “How—as Christians—should we respond to such hostility?”

Here are two principles:

Response Principle #1 – Never, ever compromise, deny, disavow, or weaken your commitment to express or follow a truth of Scripture. Never. You can never back down from truth. That doesn’t mean you won’t feel fear. But it does mean not letting fear make you cave in.

Response Principle #2 – Never allow the wrong said to you—or done to you—to cause you to hate your enemy. You must love your enemy as a fellow human made in God’s image. You don’t have to “like” them, you don’t have to excuse them or fail to seek justice against them. But you must not let hate rule over you.

It’s critical that you and I respond effectively to the hate and hostility that hits us as Christians.

Earlier I mentioned the “Christianophobia” study. Other typical respondents said of Christians:

"I wish we could start feeding them to the lions again, or burn them at the stake.”  (This person has a Ph.D. degree

They should be eradicated without hesitation or remorse.” (Master’s degree.)

Jesus said, “A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you” (John 15:20).

In this spiritual culture war, I’m honored to be fighting alongside you. And I am thankful for your prayers and financial support.

Please, use this link now to give a generous gift to help AFA keep equipping you and others to stand for Christ.

Help us shine His light into our dark culture.

P.S.   Here are six principles to help “culture warriors” like you and me to respond to hostility, from AFA Executive Vice President Ed Vitagliano:

1 -- Don’t return evil for evil, but bless them (Romans 12:17; 1 Peter 3:9).

2 -- Love our enemies (Matthew 5:44; Luke 6:27).

3 -- Remain firm for righteousness (Ephesians 6:11-14).

4 -- Don’t participate in darkness but expose it (Ephesians 5:11).

5 -- Use for the glory of Christ the political power granted to each citizen (Acts 16:37; 22:25-28).

6 -- Do all these things in a Christlike attitude, if perhaps God might grant sinners the grace for repentance (2 Timothy 2:24-26).
