God's Truth Triumphs Over Anti-Biblical Opposition

The Christian faith is under attack by an overwhelming number of people in the secular scientific community. 

To be sure, many Christian men and women are operating in scientific fields and using their platforms to directly further the kingdom of God. Indeed, many of these scientists are using science to affirm Christianity and validate the truth of Scripture. We should praise God for them and their work, for they are impacting eternity for God’s glory! 

However, the Christian scientific community and secular scientific community are immensely distinct from each other. Indeed, secular humanistic scientists are presently using science to attack the Christian faith.

Many scientists are claiming that evolution is no longer a theory, but a fact. Certain scientific organizations are presently asserting that there are more than two genders and that people can even change their gender. On the other hand, many scientific advocates are calling the Bible itself completely unreliable, alleging its supernaturality claims are irrational. Meanwhile, many scientists are attempting to use the idea of global warming to demonstrate the fragility of the Christian worldview. In the name of politics, reason, and science, in many cases, others simply trash Christians for standing against abortion, transgenderism, and similar issues.

No matter the circumstances, many in the non-Christian scientific community are constantly condemning Christians for refusing to embrace humanistic worldviews. 

Whether this looks like big-name scientists such as Richard Dawkins writing books like The God Delusion condemning Christianity, or whether it looks like professors and teachers indoctrinating students in anti-biblical thinking about life and the world, non-Christian humanists are constantly on the offensive against Christian morals, Christian worldviews, and the Christian faith as a whole.

Sadly, this demonic blitzkrieg on biblical worldviews has caused many Christians to lose confidence in God and His Word.

Is anyone else tired of seeing this happen? Is anyone else fed up with people acting as though our faith is weak, ignorant, and irrational?

The truth is that God’s truth triumphs emphatically over all anti-biblical opposition.

Grounding scientific inquiries in truth.

Because the Bible is God’s Word, its declarations are true, its assertions factual, and its every word “God-breathed” (2 Timothy 3:16). With this in mind, as we contend against satanic opposition to YHWH, let us not be bewitched into doubting our “faith which was once for all handed down to the saints” (Jude 3).  Do not throw demonic agents that bone! Instead, setting our minds on what is “true,” let us “contend earnestly” against this opposition with the utmost confidence in God’s Word (Philippians 4:8; Jude 3). This is, in fact, exactly what many Christian scientists are doing. 

See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ ( Colossians 2:8).

The futility of anti-biblical arguments.

The secular scientific community and culture around us both push agendas antagonistic to the Christian faith. However, their arguments are composed of “empty deception[s];” this much is emphasized by the reality that their arguments are not backed up by facts or truth.

A simple examination of the historical record shows that Charles Darwin himself, the man who popularized the ideas of evolution and natural selection, believed that, contrary to being factual, his theory had a potentially destructive hole. On this note, Dr. Michael Behe in his book Darwin’s Black Box points to irreducible complexity as evolution’s kryptonite. Many professionals have since accepted this proposition as evidence of intelligent design and Creationism. Contrary to what some scientific organizations want people to think, a large number of scientists currently reject evolutionary theory.

Moreover, science itself explains that there are only two sexes, just as God said in His Word (Genesis 1:27). Biology reveals that every human being has either XX (females) or XY (males) chromosomes. There are only two sexes. Further, a person’s sex can be identified at the cellular level! Biologically, a person cannot change his or her sex.

Many scientific advocates and secular humanists accuse the Bible of being unreliable and inaccurate. The Bible and its accounts, however, have been confirmed as accurate through all sorts of prophetic fulfillments and archaeological findings. Furthermore, the Dead Sea Scrolls are evidence that the Old Testament has been accurately transmitted to us today. How is that for supernatural?

The Christian faith is not irrational. While politicians and secular humanists use global warming and climate change to attack the Christian worldview, the reality is that the facts of this discussion are completely different from what humanists allege. From a biblical standpoint, these arguments are simply unpersuasive (Genesis 8:22).

Beyond this, science explains that life begins at conception; hence, unborn babies are human beings.

Ultimately, when examined from a truth-seeking perspective, science affirms the truth of Scripture and the strength of the Christian worldview. Indeed, God’s truth in its infinite power emphatically triumphs over all vain, anti-biblical theories mankind concocts. 

The real reality.

For those who reject God, the Bible reveals their condition:

For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools (Romans 1:21-22).

Those who reject God and His divine revelation are “futile in their speculations.” No matter how powerful, influential, or well-educated these people may be, God says that those who reject Him are “fools.”

The apostle Paul was no stranger to stark antagonism to the gospel. Through him, the Holy Spirit wrote: 

For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written,

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And the cleverness of the clever I will set aside.”

Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness, but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men (1 Corinthians 1:18-25).

As the Holy Spirit shows us through Paul, we should expect antagonism to the gospel and Christianity because “the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing.”

This should not shake us, for “to us who are being saved [the word of the cross] is the power of God.” Indeed, God has made foolish the ‘wisdom’ of the world; His truth triumphs over all anti-biblical opposition!

Let us not become discouraged or disheartened by attacks against God’s truth promulgated by “fools.” Rather, by God’s power, let us play offense against evil!

Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; in no way alarmed by your opponents—which is a sign of destruction for them, but of salvation for you, and that too, from God (Philippians 1:27-28).
