As many of you know, my father and AFA founder, Don Wildmon, went on to eternal glory on December 28, 2023. Long before my father’s passing, I knew that the story of his lasting impact on America needed to be communicated. That’s why, more than three years ago, our film team at American Family Studios began working on a feature-length documentary.
Today, we are proud to announce that Culture Warrior: Don Wildmon and the Battle for Decency is coming to screens this fall. The new feature-length documentary from American Family Studios recalls the life and ministry of my dad, AFA founder Donald E. Wildmon.

Culture Warrior: Don Wildmon and the Battle for Decency explores the founding of AFA and many of the cultural and spiritual battles that marked the early years of the ministry. In 1977, my dad established the National Federation for Decency, which he operated from our family’s home, and he quickly became a feared figure among network TV executives and advertisers. His concern grew beyond prime-time television, though, and he eventually confronted secular humanism, Playboy magazine, The Last Temptation of Christ (movie), the National Endowment for the Arts, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and the growing homosexual agenda. My dad was gifted with common sense, shrewdness, and spiritual determination, and his stand for righteousness continues to inspire and activate countless believers today.
“Culture Warrior is more than a reflection on a great man of God,” said M.D. Perkins, the film’s director. “It is reflecting on our recent history as a nation. It is a call for Christians to continue to stand for righteousness as God leads.”
