Have you ever wondered how your perspective on life influences your experiences? In this episode of It's My Turn, Bro Don Wildmon tells the story of John Anybody and Jim Somebody, two men who lived in the same town but had vastly different outlooks on life.

The story begins with John Anybody, who, after living a long life, finds himself at the gates of heaven. St. Peter, the gatekeeper, asks John about the kind of people he lived with on Earth. John, with a negative outlook, describes his town as unfriendly, stingy, and unpleasant. St. Peter responds by saying that the same kind of people live in heaven. Disheartened, John decides that he wants no part of it and walks away.

On the other hand, Jim Somebody arrives at the gates with a different perspective. When asked the same question by St. Peter, Jim describes his town as friendly, generous, and full of good neighbors. St. Peter tells him that heaven is filled with the same kind of people. Overjoyed, Jim enters heaven with a positive outlook.

The twist in the story is that both John and Jim lived in the same town. Their differing experiences were not due to the town itself but their attitudes towards it. This narrative beautifully illustrates how our perceptions and attitudes shape our reality. It’s a reminder that we have the power to create a positive or negative environment through our mindset.
