Last week, recovered Democrat turned conservative media personality and right-wing rebel, Candace Owens went viral after absolutely schooling a University at Albany student.
Shortly after opening the floor to questions at a Turning Point USA event, a young pink-haired woman in the crowd asked Owens, “What do you have to say to the trans[gender] students on this campus who feel actively victimized by your presence here?”
Owens quickly and matter-of-factly replied, “Life’s tough, get a helmet, man. I’m too pregnant for this.” And the crowd went wild, erupting in applause.
Owens' fast-acting and hilarious quip has garnered quite the response on social media. Seemingly, it even did a little bit of uniting as right and left alike praised Owens’ straightforwardness.
On her self-titled podcast, Owens did some reflecting asking herself the question, “Why were so many people drawn to this clip and grateful that someone had said this to this young woman?”
Her conclusion is spot on. “Well, I thought about it, and I think it’s because people are tired of coddle culture. People are tired of people actively pursuing victimization.”
Owens went on to explain that this student had an option of whether or not to attend the event put on by an openly conservative organization, and she chose to opt in, buy tickets, and attend the event, thus actively pursuing victimization.
During the event, Owens told the story of her grandfather and his “encounters with the Ku Klux Klan … who at the age of five had to lay out tobacco to dry in order be able to support his family.”
And yet, somehow in the wake of the recounting of real hardship, this student thought it brave of herself to take a stand for her transgender peers. What a sacrifice to be part of a group of people who are among the most entitled and catered to population of elitists.
It is a great day to be gay, to be transgender, to identify as something other than what you are biologically. You will get the job, have parades and commercials, and whole months of the year dedicated to your delusion – it must be nice!
But it’s this same group of people who somehow categorize themselves as victims. It’s like purposefully sitting on a bench that says, “wet paint,” crying that you ruined your clothes, then suing the city for new pants.
And that’s exactly what they’re doing. They go out of their way to buy tickets to events to deliberately seek out getting their feelings hurt, and then when they do, they make headlines on the world stage claiming abuse and ABCDEFGphobia.
The definition of phobia, by the way, is having an irrational fear of something. We need to pick a different word because we’re not scared of you. No, we are tired of the floor being scattered with eggshells and the muscles in our eyes are beginning to fatigue from rolling.
Anyway, the moral of the story? If you’re going to sit in wet paint, bring a change of clothes; and if you’re going to play the victim, remember to pack your helmet.
