Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was found guilty this week on all 30 counts with which he was charged, 17 of which allow for the death penalty.

Four innocent people are dead, including three spectators at the Boston Marathon and a police officer. The penalty phase of the trial will determine the penalty he receives.

The simple question for Christians is this: should Tsarnaev receive the death penalty?

 Here is Scripture’s answer:

“From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man. Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.” ~ God, speaking in Genesis 9:5-6

“If you do wrong, be afraid. For he (civil government) does not bear the sword in vain. For he  is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.” ~ God, speaking through the Apostle Paul in Romans 13:4

So should Dzhokhar Tsarnaev be executed? God’s answer: absolutely.
