We all want to find someone to blame for our troubles – individual or corporate. Many evangelicals fall into this same trap. They look for a villain to blame for America’s moral woes and often turn their eyes to the homosexual.
It’s quite easy to assert that America is sliding into oblivion because of homosexuality, but scripturally the issue is far more complicated than that. As it turns out, the Bible makes it clear that homosexual behavior was only one of many sins for which God judged Sodom and Gomorrah. That should scare heterosexuals – and cause Christians to examine their own hearts.
