Following her faith, a Christian baker is asking for protection from State Court
TUPELO, Miss. — Cathy Miller, a Christian baker at Tastries bakery in California, is asking for the state court to protect her rights in order to operate her bakery in accordance with her faith. To coincide with her religious beliefs, Tastries does not design cakes that depict pornographic or gory images, drug use, or messages that are demeaning to others. For over six years, Miller’s Tastries bakery has encountered countless comparisons between her religious beliefs and how they harm “the dignity of all Californians.”
American Family Association (AFA, www.AFA.net) President Tim Wildmon speaks to how many Christians are giving in to LGBTQ ideologies and not standing firm in their beliefs.
“Under enormous pressure from the LGBTQ community to embrace the ideology of sexual and gender radicals, many Christians are folding,” said Wildmon. “They prefer to say nothing rather than risk being labeled as a bigot or hater. But there are some champions –– like Cathy Miller –– who stand firm under the hailstorms from the left, maintaining fidelity to Christ and the truth of Scripture. The faithful in the body of Christ should stand in prayer with Cathy and others like her, asking God Almighty for grace and strength in the battle.”
