AFA: ‘Anyone in Congress who truly cares about actual females should favor protections like Title IX’

TUPELO, Miss. — Female athletes lobbied on Capitol Hill this week as the House took a common sense vote (219-203) along party lines to stop biological men from competing in women’s sports as defined by institutions accepting federal dollars for Title IX. The bill, which is highly unlikely to pass the Democratic Senate, would ensure equal opportunities for biological females in sports and education. The women asked Congress to prevent biological men competing in female athletics, giving them a fighting chance to earn scholarships, compete professionally, and excel in their chosen sport.

American Family Association (AFA, www.AFA.net) Executive Vice President Ed Vitagliano said the resistance to the leftist approach to gender is a battle against the realities of creation, a conflict that takes issue with the rights endowed to men and women by the Creator.

“Anyone who truly cares about the dreams, goals, and livelihoods of actual females should be in favor of the protections afforded for women by legislation like this,” Vitagliano said. “But Title IX not only provides an avenue for success — it also protects females of all ages from injury when competing with bigger, stronger, and faster biological males. This gender madness is not a winning issue for the radicals on the left, but they are blinded by their hatred for God and the natural world He created.”
