Don Wildmon authored 22 books. He wrote everything from inspirational devotionals to pithy columns to hard-hitting pieces about cultural issues. Regardless of what he wrote, Wildmon’s words always reflected the importance of answering God’s call faithfully and moving readers to action. His writings, penned years ago, are prophetic in the way they relate to current times. While his early works are now out of print, there are still ways to read his words of wit and wisdom in three books available online through the AFA Resource Center (resources.afa.net) or by calling 877.927.4917.

Following the Carpenter

Following the Carpenter: Parables to Inspire Obedience in the Christian Life, written in 1997, is 162 pages of parables that encourage readers to follow Jesus and live for Him daily. In 2020, AFA republished a gift-sized, commemorative edition of the book, complete with a hardcover and sleeve. It’s a treasured collection of some of Don Wildmon’s most compelling stories.

It’s My Turn

In the early 1990s, Don Wildmon took some of the inspirational writings he had penned before AFA’s beginnings and turned them into brief but poignant radio spots. He titled the 3.5-minute spots It’s My Turn, and they became an instant favorite among AFR listeners.

AFA compiled 60 of these spots in print and published It’s My Turn: The Collected Radio Spots of Don Wildmon – Volume One. A four-disc audio set enriches the content of the book and is available separately or as a book/CD combo.

It's My Turn: Volume Two is in the works and will be available in the near future.

Our Call to Faithfulness

At the heart of Don Wildmon’s relentless stand against cultural darkness was his desire to see American Christians living out their faith in a way that could change the world. His desire echoes in Our Call to Faithfulness, a collection of 31 columns penned by Wildmon and published in AFA Journal (now The Stand). These columns cover such topics as personal faith, cultural issues, and activism.

Our Call to Faithfulness is a 101-page relevant reminder for Christians today to fix their eyes on Jesus and fulfill their duty of sharing the gospel, no matter the cost.
