“You shall not murder” (Exodus 20:13).
“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them” ( Deuteronomy 30:19-20).
In a brief but very powerful testimony, a young mom shared her journey through a very tough situation during a pregnancy. This unique challenge could be very difficult for any young woman facing a pregnancy.
We live in a world where different voices shout at us from many different directions competing every day for our attention and our loyalty.
It is so important for us to seek to make God’s voice, that is, His Word, to be the loudest voice in our lives.
We are called to listen to God’s Word, His Voice, above all the noise of the world.
This young mom, during her third pregnancy, was diagnosed with a very serious illness that appeared to be life-threatening.
This is her story :
In 1977 I became very ill with a lung disease – histoplasmosis. I was pregnant with our third child. My doctor who was a Christian said “I am against abortion, but I must medically advise you to abort this baby. You will die and the baby will die!” I really prayed because I had two sons that I needed to raise. But I just could not imagine making that kind of decision.
God is still God and what He does with me is up to Him. I spent most of the time in bed. Then on May 9, 1978, I gave birth to a 10 – pound 1 ounce, 23.5 inch – long baby boy. He is now 45 years old, pastors a great church in Oklahoma, has four children, and co – owns a business. He is very musically talented and plays every instrument that he picks up. I am so thankful that God is in control, and He does all things well!
My question! What did this child do to deserve the death penalty?

So, in view of this powerful testimony from a courageous mom, how important it is to know that God’s Word is always true. And there is never a time to decide to disobey God and His Word for convenience’ sake or for any other reason.
When believers listen to God and His Word, and obey, it leads to the best outcome for everyone – period.
Also, be mindful that God is God, and we are not; no matter how “educated” or “smart” any of us think we are.
Obedience to God and His Word is always the wisest and best thing to do in all circumstances.
