In the middle of all the excitement of a new school year, there lurks a potential threat to parental rights that you may not be aware of. Dr. Jameson Taylor, Director of Policy and Legislative Affairs for AFA recently joined me on The Stand Radio. In a fascinating discussion, he revealed the hidden dangers embedded within school consent forms and the federal goals aimed at socializing healthcare within public schools.
Dr. Taylor began his investigation into the problem after a mother in Mississippi was denied access to her twelve-year-old child's medical records by a state-funded hospital. What he discovered was a federal effort to implement what he calls "Obamacare 2.0" in public schools through the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. By funneling Medicaid funds directly to schools and “streamlining” parental consent for healthcare services, the federal government is positioning schools to be the hub of a nationalized healthcare system.
Dr. Taylor explains that parents may unknowingly consent to more than just emergency healthcare when signing school consent forms. These forms often include vague language that could encompass a wide range of medical and mental health services, from contraception and abortion to sex change procedures and vaccinations.
To protect their children, Dr. Taylor offers several suggestions. He urges parents to run for their local school boards, advocate for automatic opt-out policies, and engage with state lawmakers to ensure parental consent is safeguarded. Additionally, parents should request to review their school's medical consent forms and consider drafting their own notarized consent forms if necessary.
In the end, parents alone have ultimate responsibility over their children for their instruction (De. 6:7), discipline (Pr. 19:18), and direction (Co. 3:20), and every form of government must respect these God-given rights.
I hope you’ll listen to the entire interview with Dr. Jameson Taylor and take the necessary steps to push back on this intrusion into parental rights and the well-being of your children.
