Success is often measured by wealth, status, and societal approval. It’s easy to get lost in the pursuit of what others deem successful. Bro Don Wildmon urges us to look beyond the superficial markers that society often glorifies in this episode of It's My Turn.

He begins by highlighting the innate desire for success that exists within each of us, a desire that has been instilled in us since the breath of life was breathed into us. But he warns that this desire can lead us astray if we allow ourselves to be misled by societal standards.

To illustrate his point, he recounts a fascinating story from 1923, where a group of the most successful men of the time gathered at the Edgewater Beach Hotel in Chicago. These men were celebrated and envied by millions, representing the pinnacle of success according to society’s metrics. However, a quarter of a century later, a snoopy reporter sought to uncover the fates of these so-called successful individuals, only to find a tragic truth. Many of them faced ruin, imprisonment, or even death by suicide.

This stark contrast between their public success and private struggles serves as a powerful reminder that success is not always what it seems. Bro Don emphasizes the importance of understanding the full story and not closing the book before the final chapter is written.

Ultimately, he challenges listeners to rethink their definitions of success. Are we measuring our achievements against the wrong standards? He argues that true success is not about wealth or status, but about living a life aligned with our values and purpose.
