Truth & Hate

Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, so our land will be filled with his glory. Unfailing love and truth have met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed! Truth springs up from the earth, and righteousness smiles down from heaven (Psalm 85:9-11 NLT).

In today's society, we are being told that God's truth is hate. We are being told that love overrules truth. I just have to say... WHAT? God's love is so big that we can't even begin to understand. His love is for all of us. But, with that
love, comes truth. Truth can sting. Truth can cut to the bone and into the marrow.

When a sinner (all of us) doesn't want to face the truth of the sin that they are living in, the sinner claims “oh, it's okay because I am doing this in love or need this or that or it's what I want... etc.”. That is not true! Truth reigns over “feelings”. God's Word is truth. His Word is final. If you don't believe one thing that God says, how can you believe anything He says through His Word? We can't pick and choose what we want to believe or not believe.

We should fear God. This is not necessarily the shaking with fear, but the meaning involves much more. The fear of God is a deep reverence for our Creator. It's a respect and love for Him. It is not wanting to do stuff that goes against His Word and His will. Fear of God is when we do commit sin, we come back to His Throne in humble repentance.

Our Father in heaven loves us more than we can understand. The Holy Bible directs our path and give us direction. His instruction is absolute and final. God's instruction, by His Holy Word, benefits us. His Word never tears us down but builds us into better people. While we struggle living in this current world, God prepares us for an eternity with Him.

Without God in our hearts and without His Word on our lips, we are lost, now and forever. Thanks be to God for making a way for us. The Way is Jesus Christ. For God so loved the world that He gave us His only begotten Son. There is only one Way to God, that is Jesus Christ.

Lord God, thank you for being Lord of All. Amen.

Tuesday

His Light

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it (John 1:5 NLT).

The Light came into the world on the first Christmas day. The Light was Jesus, the Savior of the world.

Lord God, thank you for sending Jesus so that we might have light, now and eternally. Amen.

Wednesday

Our Focus

God promised this Good News long ago through his prophets in the holy Scriptures. The Good News is about his Son. In his earthly life he was born into King David’s family line, and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 1:2-4 NLT).

It is all about Jesus Christ, the Messiah, our Savior, the King of Kings, God incarnate, the Lamb of God and I could go on and on, but I won’t. Simply put, The Good News is Jesus Saves!

Dear Lord, help us focus on you, not what the world says we should focus on. Amen!

Thursday

Great Joy

Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! (Luke 2:9-11 NLT).

Just a few weeks ago we celebrated Christmas and the coming or our Lord. Let’s not forget that Jesus is as alive today as He was on the day of His birth. He is on His throne in heaven, waiting for just the right time to return.

Lord God, thank you for sending Jesus to save us from ourselves! We love you Lord and praise your holy name. Amen.

Friday

Limitless Possibilities

For nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37 NLT).

Do you believe that nothing is impossible with God?

When we really get down to the roots of our faith, we have to ask God to show us our shortcomings in faith and life and in our walk with Him. We all go through trials and valleys in our lives but does it take those bad and tough times to draw us closer to God?

We must also remember that in the good times we should praise Him and ask Him to show us our failings and shortcomings plus how we can better serve Him.

God is awesome and He has a perfect plan for our lives. Let's remember that His plan may differ from our plan and we must be open to His direction for our lives. Thanks be to God.

Dear Father, thank you for your limitless mercy, grace and love. Amen.

Saturday

Everything Is His

And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy (Matthew 3:17 NLT).

In truth, He made the little town of Bethlehem and all that it was. He also made the star that lingered over the scene that night. He had come into His own world, His Father's world. Everything we touch and handle belongs to Him. So we have come to love Him and adore Him and honor Him. - A. W. Tozer

I'm so thankful that the Creator of all things, loves each of us, more that we can ever understand. His love for us, is the amazing heart of our God. The Son, who brought God great joy, is the same Son that is our Savior. Jesus left the throne in heaven to come to earth to save us from ourselves. God sent Jesus to be a sacrifice for us. He knew what lay ahead for Christ even before He created the universe. Jesus the Christ, laid down His life for each of us. Just let it sink in.

The joy of the world, was sacrificed for our sake. His light shines. Do you see it? Jesus Christ is as alive today as he was over 2000 years ago. He is with
us. Emmanuel. Do you know Him?

Lord God, thank You for your amazing love for us. We don't deserve it, but you call us worthy. We praise you, Father God. Thank you for sending a Savior to save us from ourselves. It's in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Sunday

Solid Ground

Now I stand on solid ground, and I will publicly praise the LORD (Psalms 26:12 NLT).

Are you standing on solid ground? Have you made your camp on the Rock? Everyone has a choice. Will you choose God's gift of salvation or the way of the world? Please choose wisely. Your decision has eternal consequences.

Lord God, help those who are living outside of your plan see the error of their ways. Open their eyes that they might see your way is best for them and for all those around them. A heart that is changed in one person, affects many others. When we accept your Son and His plan, we bring other lives into an area of solid ground, Your solid ground, Lord. Lead us today Lord, in Jesus' mighty name we pray. Amen.
