Help from God
"I look up to the mountains – does my help come from there? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth!” (Psalm 121:1-2 NLT).
In our times of trouble when no friend is there, we can look to the Heavens for an answered prayer.
Thank You, Lord!
Father God, we ask that you will shine your light into the darkness that invades our lives. May you bring comfort, peace, and joy into our lives and destroy the darkness that is overtaking us. We ask and pray in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
Tuesday
God's Hand of Blessing
You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand! (Psalm 139:4-6 NLT).
The children of God are led by His amazing hand. We are led down the paths of life and into an eternal future. God knows our every step and will direct and bless us as we travel life's trials and tribulations.
God doesn't direct us into sin but gave us a way to step out of sin, through His Son, Jesus Christ. Sin doesn't have to control our lives, it's our choice. We have the decision of accepting God's blessing of deliverance and salvation or of choosing the world's deception of riches and pleasures.
I pray this Christmas season that we will turn from our sinful ways and lean on the Lord and His blessings in our lives.
May God be with each of you and direct your every step, today and forever. Amen.
Wednesday
Suddenly the Storm Stopped
As they sailed across, Jesus settled down for a nap. But soon a fierce storm came down on the lake. The boat was filling with water, and they were in real danger. The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm. Then he asked them, “Where is your faith?” The disciples were terrified and amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!” (Luke 8:23-25 NLT).
What is the current storm that you are going through? Are you thanking God in the midst of the storm? Are you trusting in Him to bring you through this storm? Are you praising God in spite of the storm? Are you realizing that God is working in your life through this storm? Do you understand that God loves you no matter how bad the storm is?
It's not about the storm, it's how you dance in the rain!
God will not leave you in the storm. He will deliver you by the storm, through the storm or in the storm. When you have Jesus in your heart, nothing can change His love, mercy, and grace for you.
Thank You, Lord, for your love endures forever. Amen.
Thursday
His Magnificent Plan
I will exalt you, my God and King, and praise your name forever and ever. I will praise you every day; yes, I will praise you forever. Great is the Lord ! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness (Psalm 145:1-3 NLT).
I can't exclaim loud enough how much I praise God and what He has done, is doing, and is going to do in my life. He saved me from myself. He gave me eternal life with Him through Jesus Christ. He is now using me and shaping me to boldly serve Him. He is using my spiritual gifts for His glory. He has a magnificent plan for me, a plan that I haven't a clue about. That's my God!
Not only is He my God, but He is also your God too. He will do great works in your life if you ask Him into your heart and life. Today is the day to become a child of the Most High God! Let Jesus reign in your life. He will make a difference today and eternally.
Father God, thank you. We praise you. We worship you. We pray in the mighty name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Friday
Ecstatic
This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24 NLT).
We, all of us, should be excited for today. No, ecstatic is a better word because there will never be another day like today. We were all blessed to open our eyes this morning. Yes, blessed to take another breath.
God has richly blessed each of us with another day of life. Worship God and give Him thanks.
Lord God, thank You for another day on this earth. Help us to use this day for your glory and not ours. Help us to help the needy and the lost. Help us, Lord, as we are not capable of doing your work, without you leading the way. Direct our path today and each day you’ve made. We praise your holy name. Amen.
Saturday
Truth
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!” (John 14:6-7 NLT).
Do you know Him?
Father God, I pray that someone who reads this devotion will accept your Son, Jesus Christ, as their Savior and King. Lord, help those who are misled about multiple ways to get to heaven realize that there is only one way to heaven and that's through Jesus. Father, forgive us of or our sins and cleanse us with the sacrificed blood of Christ. It's in His name that we pray. Amen.
Sunday
Lead Us Lord
Lead me in the right path, O Lord, or my enemies will conquer me. Make your way plain for me to follow (Psalm 5:8 NLT).
Father God, hold us in your arms. Protect us from the troubles of this world. Shield us from Satan's attacks and lies. Direct us in the right direction; your way, not ours. Make clear your way, because we often follow the wrong road. We trust in You, Lord. You will never fail us, even though we fail you daily. Forgive our ineptness and save us from ourselves. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
