American Family Association is committed to respecting the privacy of our supporters. We have developed this privacy policy to protect your information. 

AwarenessAmerican Family Association provides this Donor Privacy Policy to help you understand how we use and protect your information. You can remove your name from our mailing list at any time, should you desire to do so.

Information Collected: Here are the types of donor information that we collect and maintain: 

  • contact information: name, organization/church, complete address, phone number, email address; 
  • payment information: credit card number and expiration date, and billing information; 
  • shipping information: name, organization/church, complete address; 
  • information you wish to share: questions, comments, suggestions; and 
  • your request to receive periodic updates: e.g., to individuals who request it, we will send periodic mailings related to specific fund-raising appeals, prayer concerns, action alerts, newsletters and periodicals.

How Information is Used: American Family Association uses your information to understand your needs and provide you with better service. Specifically, we use your information to help you complete a requested transaction, communicate with you, and update you concerning ministry developments. Credit card numbers are used only for donation or payment processing and are not retained for other purposes. We use the comments you offer to provide you with information requested, and we take seriously each recommendation as to how we might improve communication.   

No Sharing of Personal InformationAmerican Family Association (“AFA”) will not sell, rent, lease, or otherwise disseminate or distribute your personal information to outside organizations. We assure you that the identity of all of our donors will be kept strictly confidential. Donor information will be used solely for the internal AFA purposes to further the ministry activities and to execute AFA’s mission and vision. 

When you take action pursuant to one of our emails or our website the only personal information included in our petitions is your name, city and/or state. When you take action in response to one of our alerts which forwards your comments to a company, only your name and email address will be visible. When contacting Congress, your email address, name, and street address will be visible to allow your elected official to respond. 

How we gather information from usersHow we collect and store information depends on the site you are visiting, the activities you elect to participate in and the services provided. For example, you may be asked to provide information when you register for access to certain portions of one of our sites or request certain features, such as newsletters, news updates, or when you purchase one of our products. You may provide information when you participate in voting and polling activities, online activism or advocacy efforts, and other interactive areas of our site. 

Like most web sites, AFA-related sites also collect information automatically and through the use of electronic tools that may be transparent to our visitors. For example, we may use cookie technology to recognize you and hold information from your visit. Among other things, the cookie may store your user name and e-mail address, sparing you from having to re-enter that information each time you visit.  

AFA recognizes and appreciates the importance of protecting and using the information we collect on this site responsibly. For this reason, AFA reserves the option to contact you from time to time about important issues in which the American Family Association is involved. You are given the opportunity to opt-out of receiving further communications from us in each communication we send to you by using the “Unsubscribe” button provided at the end of each message.  

ChildrenAFA does not knowingly collect or solicit Personally Identifiable Information from or about children under 13 years of age except as permitted by law and/or with parental consent. If we discover we have received any information from a child under 13 years old in violation of this policy, we will delete that information immediately. If you believe AFA has any information from or about anyone under 13 years of age, please contact us at the address listed below.  

Removing Your Name From Our Mailing ListIt is our desire to refrain from sending unwanted mail or email to our donors. If you would no longer like to receive mailed correspondence from us, please send your request to be removed from our mailing list in writing to us at the address listed below. All email correspondence from AFA includes an “Unsubscribe” button at the end of the message. Your request will be honored within 24 hours.

Removing Your Phone Number From Text Message Communications: To opt-out of text messages, simply reply STOP to any text message received from AFA. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency may vary.
