Take Action!

Have you ever wondered why we, as conservatives, keep losing ground?

This is one reason why. All too often, conservatives are content to hold ground. By contrast, the Left is always trying to take new ground. Recent efforts to expand Obamacare … that’s the Left taking new ground. Protests against ICE … the Left taking the moral argument away from conservatives. Attack, attack, attack. That is the what the Left does. … We conservatives. … Hold, hold, hold.

Guess who is winning?

Here in Mississippi, we must change the narrative. Call your Mississippi lawmakers today and tell them to be bold by supporting the 8 incredible bills below.

Conservatives have good ideas. All they need to do is move forward with them. We need to fight for every inch. The Left is not going to give us any wins.

And, make no mistake, here in Mississippi the real battle is for the heart of the conservative movement.

Those conservatives who want to maintain the status quo? They’re not conservatives. They’re moderates, at best. And they need to hear from you today.

The committee deadline to pass legislation in Mississippi is Tuesday, March 3. Any bill not passed by then is dead.

We have to act now. Please email your Mississippi lawmakers today … before it’s too late. If you don’t call and email, many of the great conservative bills below will die.

Put Prayer Back in Schools the Right Way (HB 1310): The Open to Religion Act updates the 2013 Student Religious Liberties Act by aligning school policies with the newly decided Kennedy v. Bremerton School District case. This bill provides a framework to accommodate religious practice in public schools. The Open to Religion Act puts prayer and religious reading on a level playing field with other on-campus extracurricular activities, such as a chess club that meets in a classroom during lunch. In doing so, it ends the longstanding, un-American practice of discriminating against religion in public schools.

Keep Kids Safe from Online Predators and Rapists (HB 1224): Mississippi lawmakers have long been committed to protecting kids from online harms, passing in 2023 an age-verification requirement for websites that contain pornographic material and in 2024 the Walker Montgomery Online Child Protection Act. A federal district court enjoined the Walker Montgomery Act, and the state appealed. Although the law was temporarily reinstated pending appellate litigation, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh indicated that the law is “likely unconstitutional.” The Keeping Kids Safe Online Act (HB 1224) creates a legally enforceable means to give parents effective control of their children’s online activities. HB 1224 will take effect only if the Walker Montgomery law is struck down, serving as a seamless backstop to ensure Mississippi children are protected from online harms.

Protect Women from Dangerous and Illegal Abortion Pills (HB 1613/SB 2107): Although abortion is illegal in Mississippi, abortions continue at a pace greater than before the Dobbs case because loopholes are enabling abortion drug traffickers to harm women and children. These companion bills make it a felony punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years to traffic abortion-inducing drugs. The bills also authorize the Attorney General to bring a civil action on behalf of the state to enjoin violations.

Guarantee Fair Banking for Everyone (HB 1597): AFA has been debanked once and almost debanked a second time. The threat of debanking is real, and this is an issue of special importance to President Trump, who has also been debanked. Anyone, regardless of political affiliation, can be debanked. This legislation will help protect all people in Mississippi.

Give Justice to Foster Care Kids (HB 1758/SB 2571): Every year, a small percentage of children in foster care qualify for Social Security survivor or disability benefits, earned through the work of their deceased parents or through their own disability. The Trump administration recently reprimanded Mississippi for taking this money and putting it into CPS’s general operating budget. This bill corrects this injustice.

Make Mississippi Communities Safe from Criminal Aliens (SB 2114): Federal law, including the recently passed Laken Riley Act, anticipate that state law enforcement officials will work with ICE in protecting communities from criminal illegal aliens. Such cooperation routinely occurs in many other areas, such as with environmental policy (EPA and DEQ work together, for example) or healthcare policy (Medicaid is a joint federal-state program). Immigration is no different. This bill would help Mississippi catch up with other states that have long participated in such enforcement efforts, like the 287(g) program.

Help Address Illegal Alien Tax Evasion (SB 2828/HB 362): This legislation provides an opportunity for illegal aliens who are not paying state income taxes to contribute in another way by paying a small fee on international wire transfers. U.S. citizens paying the fee will receive a tax credit reimbursing them through their Mississippi taxes. The bill is based on a successful policy passed in Oklahoma in 2009 and, more recently, enacted as part of the One Big Beautiful Act.

Require Accurate Driver’s Licenses (SB 2322): This bill requires that Mississippi driver’s licenses indicate the driver’s sex as determined at birth. It would also provide that certain licenses, intentionally provided by some states to individuals without proof of citizenship, would not be recognized as valid in Mississippi.
