Christians under attack in Syria

Wednesday, March 12, 2025 @ 05:10 PM Christians under attack in Syria
Please pray for Syria’s Christians

Over 1,300 people, including Christians, have been killed in Syria since last Thursday.

Before the civil war there, Christians made up 10% of the population. But by 2022, this number had dropped to less than 2% due to worsening conditions. The fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in on December 8, 2024, has left Christians in uncertainty.

Christians in MidEast face purge

As FoxNews reports, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s warning of a terrorist takeover in Syria looks to be coming true. Reports make clear that al Qaeda-linked terror forces aligned with Syria’s interim new president—a former al Qaeda terrorist—are being accused of massacring Alawites as well as members of the country’s dwindling Christian community.

The new ruling group, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, claims to protect Christian rights, but its jihadist past raises concerns. Although Kurdish controlled areas offer some religious tolerance, Turkish forces continue attacking Christians and other religions in the area. Even in the face of danger, the faith of these Christians remains strong. As the apostle Paul said, we should pray for our brothers and sisters, especially in times of trouble.

Please pray for Syria’s Christians and share this message with fellow believers. Also pray that the Trump administration and the United States Congress will take an active part in protecting religious freedom in Syria by condemning the killings and offering asylum to Christians all over the world who are enduring persecution.
