Increased access to the internet and other online platforms means kids are more likely than ever to be exposed to adult content. Seventy percent of children report being exposed to online adult content, with the initial age being 12-years-old. The consequences are devasting: bad habits and addiction that ruin the innocence of childhood and carry over into abusive or dysfunctional adult relationships.

The science shows exposure to inappropriate material is bad for kids. It’s also commonsense. As adults, we are obligated to do everything we can to protect children from p*rn. Kids have a right just to be kids.

That’s why we’re reaching out today to ask for your calls and emails to the South Carolina Senate to pass a bill that would protect children from adult content, including child victimization material.

H. 3424 has passed the House and is awaiting consideration by Chairman Tom Davis in the Labor, Commerce and Industry Committee.

The adult “entertainment” industry does not want this bill! The South Carolina legislation is based on bills 8 other states have already passed, the most recent being Indiana, just a few weeks ago.

The p*rn predators have started a litigation center just to fight these bills. But guess what? They keep losing in court. Recently, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a Texas law that is very similar to the South Carolina bill. It reduces accidental exposure to online adult content by requiring age verification. Thus far, every single one of these bills has won in court. The result is that porn providers are literally pulling out of certain states.

North Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi, Louisiana. It’s time for South Carolina to act.

Please call and email your South Carolina Senator and ask them to support and vote yes on H. 3424.

The South Carolina bill, sponsored by Rep. Travis Moore, also targets child p*rn*gr*phy and other forms of ILLEGAL obscenity. It requires websites to remove this child victimization material.

Child p*rn*gr*phy, unlike “regular” p*rn, has ZERO First Amendment protection. It is illegal in South Carolina, and it is illegal under federal law.

H. 3424 would not only protect kids from being accidentally exposed to “regular” p*rn*gr*phy, it would SHUT DOWN child victimization websites.

Please call and email your South Carolina state senator today.

We have to stop these child predators. We have to stop child p*rn*gr*phy. Ask your South Carolina senators to support and vote yes on H. 3424.
