The next Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives must be a great leader, not just a good leader. Congress needs a person who has a proven track record of conservative convictions, a vision to restore American greatness, and the determination to defend the Constitution of the United States.
Republicans have nominated Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) to be the next House Speaker, but he needs 217 votes.
According to FoxNews, Jordan failed to gather enough support to win the gavel in the second round of voting on the floor of the House earlier yesterday –– and the number of Republicans voting against him increased.
Another vote for Speaker could happen today, but regardless of when, we urge you to contact your member of Congress and urge a “YES” vote for Jim Jordan.
Yesterday, 22 Republicans voted against Jordan, who was nominated by the GOP conference last week. On Tuesday he lost 20 Republicans. But the fight is not over!
Jordan allies are encouraging him to keep going.
“Don’t lose faith if @Jim_Jordan loses a few votes on the second ballot,” Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) said on X. “I’m committed to voting as many times as we must to get Jim elected as Speaker, as long as he is putting his name forward. If that means we vote all night, then buckle up cause we will vote all night!”
Jordan is a constitutionalist, a man of integrity, and a founder of the House Freedom Caucus –– the band of conservative members of Congress dedicated to fighting for liberty.
