As the trial of former police officer Derek Chauvin was taking place, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) was engaging protestors and rioters with promotions of civil unrest.
In an interview with FoxNews, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) said Waters "was on the streets encouraging protestors in Minneapolis to engage in violence, to engage in riots."
This past weekend, while joining an angry mob, Waters said if Chauvin should be found not guilty in the murder of George Floyd, "We’'ve got to stay on the street and we've got to get more active, we've got to get more confrontational. We've got to make sure that they know that we mean business."
For this and other outbursts, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has filed H. Res. 327 to expel Waters from Congress for "inciting violence and engaging in rioting and protest against citizens and officers of the United States, including President Donald J. Trump."
The rule of law matters in the United States. When an elected official thwarts the law and encourages others to do so, that official should be immediately removed from office.
Maxine Waters is such a person. Her continued incendiary comments serve only to divide our nation and create an unsafe environment for citizens across the country.
