Write your senators about President Trump’s acquittal.
The United States Senate voted against Congress' articles of impeachment that charged President Donald J. Trump with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. These articles of impeachment were unconstitutional and lacking in evidence.
Thankfully, the Senate voted to acquit the president of any wrongdoing and declared President Trump not guilty of either charge.
Voting 52-48 for acquittal, mostly along party lines, the Senate has ended this disgraceful waste of Congress' time and taxpayers' money on nothing more than a political hoax.
Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) split his vote on impeachment articles. Romney was the lone Republican who voted to convict the president for abuse of power. He voted to acquit the president on the charge of obstruction of Congress.
Thankfully, common sense and wisdom prevailed, and the president was acquitted.
We urge you to send an email to your senators based on how they voted. We encourage you to send a message of thanks and appreciation to those senators who voted for acquittal, and we encourage you to express your disappointment to those senators who voted against acquittal.
Let your senators know you are watching their actions and will hold them accountable when election time rolls around.
