According to the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974, President Donald Trump has the legal authority to send a rescissions package to Congress that would revoke the funding of certain outdated and ineffective federal programs.

With government spending and debt at all time highs, it is time for Congress to rein in spending!

President Trump is taking such action by sending Congress a rescissions package totaling $15.4 billion, and on June 7 the House passed H.R. 3, the Spending Cuts to Expired and Unnecessary Programs Act. The Senate must now pass their version before the deadline on Friday.

Take action now. Call your U.S. Senators urging them to pass President Trump's rescission package through S.2979, the Spending Cuts to Expired and Unnecessary Programs Act.

The Senate has until Friday, June 22, to pass the bill before the deadline to take the measure up. It is important to note that this bill will not be subject to the arcane filibuster rule requiring 60 votes to end the Democratic obstruction. Only a simple majority vote will be required for passage.
