Bryan Fischer: Liberal justices on the Supreme Court are a bunch of homophobic bigots

Observers have yet to recognize the obvious: the liberal justices on the Supreme Court are a batch of homophobic bigots who harbor malice in their hearts toward homosexuals.

This is evident based on their very own reasoning. In the DOMA ruling, they made it clear that every member of Congress who voted for DOMA, and the Democrat president who signed it into law, denied special rights to homosexuals for one reason and one reason only: their mean-spirited intent to “disparage,” “injure,” “degrade,” “demean” and “humiliate” homosexuals.

Otherwise, said the Court, they would have been happy to accord full marital status and benefits upon those who enter into sodomy-based marriages.

But the liberal justices, by their own lights, are as malevolent and as full of malice as they accuse us of being. Why? Because they granted full spousal benefits only to homosexual couples in 12 states. Homosexual couples in the other 38 states just got hosed. They were denied, by those who fancy themselves to be morally superior opponents of discrimination in all its forms, the very rights they awarded to every other homosexual couple in the rest of the country.

What could possibly explain this egregious and reprehensible discrimination? Well, according to the paragons of tolerance themselves, the only possible motive for denying sodomy-based marriages full benefits is an intent to “disparage, injure, degrade, demean and humiliate” those of the homosexual persuasion. This makes them reprehensible frauds and hypocrites, preening as our moral betters when they are guilty by their own standards of every accusation they throw at us.

Antonin Scalia, in an entirely appropriate and scathing dissent, went a step further. By demonizing supporters of natural marriage as they have, the liberal justices have demonized every values voter in America just as Hitler did the Jews right before he started carting them off to the ovens.

Said Scalia, “It is one thing for a society to elect change; it is another for a court of law to impose change by adjudging those who oppose it hostes humani generis, enemies of the human race.”

That phrase, “enemies of the human race,” sounded familiar. I soon discovered with minimal research that this phrase was frequently found on the lips of Adolf Hitler. It was his pet phrase to describe the Jews, and became his justification for seeking to wipe them from the face of the earth.

Now Scalia is a pretty smart fella. This choice of phrase was quite deliberate on his part. He is warning us here that Christians are now being regarded as vermin and worse by our betters in the ruling class, and therefore as little entitled to respect and humane treatment as the Jews of Hitler’s day.

The Court has done an exceedingly dangerous thing here which completely undermines the rule of law. It has ruled that a law and its legal protection may be discarded if the elites even suspect that the motives behind such a law are impure. This is regardless of whether that law is constitutional, has abundant rational reasons for its defense, and is a perfectly appropriate expression of sound policy.

Thus the Court, despite making the pretense of upholding states’ rights on marriage, has laid an IED, the animus bomb, underneath the roadbed of every state marriage amendment.

The ACLU has already launched a $10 million campaign to attack these state marriage amendments. Proponents of sodomy-based marriage will challenge them in court, basing their accusations solely on the completely mythical charge that the voters who enacted such protections for natural marriage are vicious haters, and poof, the amendment vanishes into the ether of judicial tyranny.

The Court has declared that any support of natural marriage can be dismissed as a form of bigotry. The most alarming feature of the Court’s ruling is the danger this represents to religious liberty. The Court has tagged God as a hateful bigot, Christians as homophobic hatemongers, and the Bible as hate speech.

We as a nation must choose between the homosexual agenda and religious liberty because we cannot have both. Every advance of the homosexual agenda comes at the expense of religious liberty.

It’s time for values voters to armor up, not with the weapons of the world and the flesh, but with the spiritual weapons of warfare which are powerful in God for the pulling down of strongholds. All-out cultural war is about to commence. Strap it on, boys.
