Christie should be the rule, not the exception to it

Those running for reelection this year should take a look at the wonderful response from Gov. Chris Christie the other day to a reporter who accused him of being confrontational.  The established  conventional wisdom of playing to the middle and fuzzy when it comes to being pinned down on where you stand on issues so as not to lose the undecided and swing voters is over.  We are in a constitutional crisis; yes, it as manifested most saliently in the realm of economics but this is all about the constitution, specifically the limits of the federal government’s power. 

 

No longer will people be fooled bogus compassionate arguments especially when that compassion limits their liberty, impacts their job (or ability to find one) and violates the fundamental that the power of the state is only legitimate by the consent of the governed.  When Americans witness their president and members of congress demonstrate arrogance by ignoring their will while engaging in Orwellian double speak as well as employing gangster-like bullying tactics with those who dare to question their agenda, the people yearn for truth.  For liberals in 2004 it was the Howard Dean phenomenon of being perceived as someone who wasn’t apologizing for his leftist beliefs.  Last week it was Governor Christie’s: I am what I am and if you have problem with it, bring it on! There’s no crying in politics unless you are a liberal Democrat and you care…
